Day 2,National Review Meeting on Elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis & Kala-Azar, deliberations done under technical guidance of Dr Tanu Jain, Director, Dr Chhavi, Dr Rinku, JD, NCVBDC on strengthening MDA,MMDP,Surveillance for LF/KA & research based gap filling.

A two-week Orientation Training Programme for 4th Semester MPH students of NIHFW commenced at NCVBDC on 8 June 2026 under the guidance of Dr. Tanu Jain, Director, NCVBDC. The programme aims to sensitize students to VBDs and their control strategies, while providing insights into the formulation and implementation of public health policies and the functioning of the NVBDCP.

Yoga session held in NCVBDC, Delhi on 21st June, 2026 at 9.00 AM. Yoga Experts/Demonstrators from MORARJI DESAI NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF YOGA took the session.

The farewell of Prof. (Dr.) Sunita Sharma, DGHS was held at NCVBDC on 3rd June 2026 in presence of Sh. Rajendra Singh, Joint Secretary, Dr. Tanu Jain, Director NCVBDC and officers of NCVBDC. On 25 Feb 2026, A Central Team led by Dr. Tanu Jain, Director, NCVBDC, along with Dr. Runu Bala Das, State Programme Officer and other state officials, visited Nahorani Tea Estate PHC, PHC Rangapara, Village No. 7 Hatibari (Block Rangapara), and Village Burpukhuri, PHC Burpukhuri (Block Balipara), District Sonitpur to monitor the ongoing Mass Drug Administration (MDA) for Elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis (ELF) and review MMDP care services provided under the ELF programme.

The team also assessed progress under the Malaria Elimination Programme, reviewed the Adult JE Vaccination Campaign, and evaluated ongoing Vector-Borne Disease (VBD) control activities in the area.

On 27th September, a review of vector-borne diseases (VBDs) was held in Hyderabad under the guidance of Dr. K.K. Tripathy (Economic Advisor, MoHFW) and Dr. Tanu Jain (Director, NCVBDC). Regional Directors (RDs), State Program Officers (SPOs) from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, WHO representatives, and various partners participated, with National Programme Officers and district teams joining virtually. The focus was on intensifying efforts to eliminate malaria and lymphatic filariasis (LF), and strengthen control measures for dengue and chikungunya. #EndNTDs #Health #Malaria #Dengue #VBD #LF #Chikungunya
