Action taken by Govt. of India towards prevention & control of AES/JE
BackThe steps taken by Govt. of India towards prevention and control of AES/JE are as follows:-
- JE vaccination under Routine Immunization has covered 343 districts and adult vaccination has covered in 44 districts of Assam, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
- Re-orientation training course on AES/JE case management is a continuing process. Such orientating training courses were carried out in endemic states.
- Advisories are being sent to all the endemic states before the transmission season.
- The diagnostic facilities have been strengthened to 175 Sentinel Surveillance Hospitals (SSHs) and 15 Apex Referral Laboratories (ARLs). These facilities have been supplied with diagnostic kits, which has been provide free of cost from National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune.
- The programme activities and epidemiological situation of all endemic states are reviewed before the transmission season. Guidelines on clinical management of JE was developed.
